We Are Committed to Ethical AI

Gloo is committed to providing ethical and redemptive uses of AI. Our AI Offerings are developed at standards that match the high level of commitment you place in Gloo as our trusted publishers, content producers, churches, and enterprises.

You Own Your Content

  • You maintain ownership of Your Content, including Enriched Content.

  • Gloo will not use Your Content to train our AI Offerings without your prior consent

  • You may request that Gloo delete Your Content from our AI Offerings at any time

You Decide How Your Content Is Shared

  • Gloo’s AI Offerings allow you to decide how, when, and where Your Content is used by our AI Offerings

  • You can choose to only share Your Content to power your apps and websites or grant approval to share Your Content with other third-party apps and sites.

  • When you approve sharing with a third party, Your Content is approved for use only by the apps and sites you have approved and only in the ways you approve it to be used

  • You can remove or modify your approval for 3rd party apps to use Your Content at any time

We Secure Your Content

  • Gloo uses industry-standard encryption and other security measures designed to protect Your Content

Description of Gloo’s AI Offerings

Gloo’s AI Offerings provide an advanced AI Data Engine providing a variety of ways for Your Content to be ingested, organized, transformed, stored, and distributed by our AI Offerings.

Content Ingestion

  • We provide a variety of tools for you to use to upload content files, send content via API, or connect to the third-party systems where Your Content is currently hosted (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or your website CMS)

  • You may also choose to use advanced automated content retrieval tools to extract Your Content and upload and ingest it to our AI Offerings

  • Our AI Offerings also give you the choice to utilize other integrated third-party providers to upload Your Content to the AI Offerings

Content Organization

  • Gloo’s Transformation Engine takes Your Content, whether PDFs, TXT, DOCX, EPUB, video, or audio files, and chunks it into smaller snippets of roughly 1,000 characters each

  • The Transformation Engine then converts these snippets into a vector format and stores them in Gloo’s secure, multi-tenant vector database (note: single tenant databases are available for premium users)

Content Enrichment

  • Gloo’s Data Engine enriches each snippet produced from Your Content with new tags, descriptions, and other AI-generated content

  • For example, these new tags and descriptions can include:

    • Questions that each snippet answers

    • Human flourishing dimensions (faith, finances, relationships, vocation, wellness, character, happiness)

    • Thriving church dimensions (prayer culture, discipleship, bible engagement, etc)

    • Sentiment analysis

    • Level of complexity

    • Readability

    • Life issues

    • Biblical text

    • Summaries

  • In addition to standard enrichment functionality, additional custom enrichment tools are available for premium users

Digital Rights Management

  • Once enriched, Gloo’s Digital Rights Management system allows you to distribute and make available Your Content to your apps and sites, as well as those third-party apps and sites you approve

  • Gloo’s Digital Rights Management system, you have control over how and when Your Content is distributed and made available through the AI Offerings, and you determine the apps and sites that receive access to Your Content

  • Our AI Data Engine Component Library enables a variety of functionality to help you with distribution of Your Content, including:

    • Enhanced AI Discover & Search Bar

    • Premium AI Chatbot (Premium only)

    • Premium AI Landing Pages (Premium only)

    • Premium AI Paywall (Premium only)

    • Additional future components

  • Additional distribution functionality can be made available based on your settings in Gloo’s Digital Rights Management:

    • Gloo’s Church app for churches

    • Gloo’s Aspen app for consumers

    • 3rd Party apps via Gloo’s Developer APIs

  • Your premium content, like books, subscriptions, and other services, may be distributed through third-party platforms via Gloo's marketplace for churches and consumers. Gloo offers revenue share models for these distribution channels under a separate agreement

Supplemental Terms for Gloo AI Offerings

These Supplemental Terms for Gloo AI Offerings (“AI Supplemental Terms”) add to and supplement the Gloo Services Terms of Service (Gloo’s “Terms of Service”) you have agreed to with Gloo.

These AI Supplemental Terms and Gloo’s Terms of Service together form the terms of the agreement (“Agreement”) between you and Gloo applicable to your use of and access the artificial intelligence (“AI”) Offerings made available by Gloo (Gloo’s “AI Offerings”).

Gloo is willing to allow you to access and use the AI Offerings specified in Orders placed by you and accepted by Gloo under this Agreement only if you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

You will be bound by this Agreement as of the date you first accept these AI Supplemental Terms, including electronically, or otherwise access or use any AI Offerings. You and Gloo are each a party to this Agreement and together are the parties to this Agreement.

Please read these AI Supplemental Terms carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE AI SUPPLEMENTAL TERMS, OR DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS IN THESE AI SUPPLEMENTAL TERMS, YOU MAY NOT ENTER INTO THE AGREEMENT OR ACCESS OR USE GLOO’S AI OFFERINGS.

Definitions

Terms used in this Agreement have the definitions given in these AI Supplemental Terms or, if not defined in these AI Supplemental Terms, have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. All other terms shall have their plain English meaning as commonly interpreted in the United States.

Scope

This Agreement includes these AI Supplemental Terms and the Terms of Service. This Agreement applies to any access to the AI Offerings, whether made by you directly or on your behalf. The Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the AI Offerings and the other subject matter covered by this Agreement. This Agreement supersedes any and all written or oral prior agreements and understandings between the parties concerning the AI Offerings and such other subject matter. In the event of any conflict between these AI Supplemental Terms and the Terms of Service or any Order, these AI Supplemental Terms will take precedence and control.

Additional Agreements

In addition to this Agreement, if you enter into (or have entered into) any other agreement with Gloo or its affiliates (“Additional Gloo Agreement”), the Additional Gloo Agreement will remain applicable between you and Gloo (or such affiliate, as applicable) as stated in that Additional Gloo Agreement, provided that this Agreement will control with respect to your access to and use of the AI Offerings.

Orders

You obtain access to the AI Offerings by placing Orders under this Agreement. Like any other Order, Gloo has no obligation or responsibility with respect to an Order under this Agreement until accepted by Gloo, in its sole discretion. Once accepted by Gloo all Orders under this Agreement will become a part of the Agreement.

Use of the AI Offerings

As with any other Offering, Gloo will provide each AI Offering as specified in this Agreement and the Order(s) for that AI Offering and your access to and use of each AI Offering is subject to the terms of this Agreement, including any terms specified in the Order(s) for that AI Offering. Unless separately specified in this Agreement, all applicable performance and support commitments for each AI Offering are specified in the Order(s) for that Offering.

Your Content

For purposes of this Agreement, Your Content includes all Content that you provide or make available in connection with any AI Offering, including Enriched Content. You retain ownership of all rights that you hold in Your Content. You grant Gloo only those rights and licenses in Your Content stated in this Agreement, which for purposes of the AI Offerings will include the right to modify and enrich Your Content using the AI Offerings and to distribute and make available Your Content through the AI Offerings.

Enriched Content is the meta data tags & labels that are added to Your Content by the AI Offerings. 

In addition to the rights provided to access and use Gloo Content under the Agreement, you may access and use Enriched Content only in the form provided through each AI Offering (i.e., only as part of Your Content that such Enriched Content enhances), solely for your own business purposes in connection with the use of Your Content and subject to the other responsibilities and restrictions specified in this Agreement.

Gloo Content

For purposes of this Agreement, Gloo Content is defined in the Gloo Services Terms of Service, and includes Output Content. 

Output Content includes all Content generated through the use and operation of the AI Offerings.

All Gloo Content, including Output Content, is for informational purposes only and Gloo is not responsible for any errors or omissions in any Gloo Content. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy, completeness, and applicability of all Gloo Content and for your own use of that Gloo Content.

Model Training

Gloo will not use Your Content to train the AI models in Gloo’s AI Offerings unless you have agreed to an Additional Gloo Agreement providing for such training.

Feedback

Any information, content, or materials you provide to Gloo through any AI Offering or otherwise in connection with this Agreement, including any feedback, comments, or suggestions relating to the use, operation, performance, functionality, or features of the AI Offerings (“Feedback”) is entirely voluntary. Gloo will be free to use any Feedback for any purpose and without any without notice, payment, or other obligation to you. All use of any Feedback will be at Gloo’s sole discretion.

Trademarks

You grant Gloo all licenses, rights, permissions, and consents necessary for Gloo and its affiliates, contractors, and sub-processors to use your names, logos, and other trademarks (“Marks”) to make available and provide the AI Offerings to you as specified in this Agreement and under each Order. All use of your Marks by Gloo, and all goodwill generated by such use, shall insure to your benefit. Gloo may also identify you by name, with or without use of any of your Marks in general promotional lists of Gloo’s customers.

Additional Restrictions

The AI Offerings, and the software, databases, hardware, and other technology used by or on behalf of Gloo to provide the AI Offerings, and the structure, organization, and underlying data, information and software code thereof constitute the valuable trade secrets of Gloo and its providers. You will not, and will not permit any third party to: (1) access or attempt to access the AI Offerings except as expressly provided in this Agreement; (2) use the AI Offerings in any unlawful manner or in any other manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the AI Offerings; (3) use automated scripts to collect information from or otherwise interact with the AI Offerings; (4) alter, modify, reproduce, create derivative works of the AI Offerings; (5) distribute, sell, resell, lend, loan, lease, license, sublicense or transfer any of your rights to access or use the AI Offerings or otherwise make the AI Offerings available to any third party; (6) reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the method of operation of the AI Offerings; (7) attempt to circumvent or overcome any technological protection measures intended to restrict access to any portion of the AI Offerings; (8) monitor the availability, performance or functionality of the AI Offerings; or (9) interfere with the operation or hosting of the AI Offerings.

Below are a few frequently asked questions and our responses about our privacy practices. Further information regarding our privacy practices is set out in our Privacy Statement. 


  1. What Services does Gloo provide?

    We offer a variety of products, services, mobile applications, and software offerings (collectively, the “Services”) that help organizations know and understand their members, prospective members, and communities; connect organizations and individuals to one another; and measure their impact as they help people on their journey towards growth. As part of providing the Services, we collect and receive information in a variety of ways, including information on our websites and applications, from our organizational customers and/or prospective customers, from individuals that use the Services as well as other third parties described below.

  2. To whom does Gloo offer its Services?

    Gloo offers Services to organizations that support personal growth, including churches, charities, addiction recovery institutions, and community service organizations (we may refer to these organizations as Champions). We are open to all organizations whose principles align with our Services Acceptable Use Policy. We do not unlawfully discriminate against any religions, churches, or other organizations.

    We also offer Services to individuals who are interested in connecting with the organizations we work with. 

  3. How does Gloo collect and use personal information?

    As we explain in our Privacy Statement, we use personal information about individuals to provide our Services. We may collect the following data:

    • When individuals visit our website or sign up for our Services, we receive data from these individuals themselves. We do not disclose this data in identifiable form with others, except at the request or direction of the individual, such as when individuals ask us to connect them with churches or other organizations who can help them or in the limited circumstances described in our Privacy Statement (e.g., to service providers).

    • When a church or other organization engages us as a service provider, we process personal information the organization provides to us on the organization’s behalf, such as to create surveys and social media outreach campaigns for those organizations at the explicit instruction of the organization.

    • We also license personal information from data providers. We use this data to provide insights and related Services to our customers. Gloo does not seek to receive names and contact information of data subjects provided by data providers. However, if a data provider were to include names or contact information, we remove this identifying information. In any event, we do not share such information in identifiable form with customers or other organizations.

  4. What information does Gloo receive from and about Gloo Customers?

    We receive information from data partners about our customers, including contact information about individuals who work for those organizations (e.g., pastors). We use this information for market research, product development, and marketing in accordance with applicable laws as further described in our Privacy Statement.

  5. Is Gloo a data broker?

    No. Gloo does not “sell” a consumer’s personal information to third parties as defined by applicable law and/or engage in activities that meet the definition of “data” broker. 

  6. How does Gloo safeguard Gloo Services?

    As set out  in our Services Acceptable Use Policy, we contractually prohibit recipients of our Services from using our Services (a) for any illegal purposes, (b) to promote hate speech or incite violence, (c) to create a risk to a person’s health or safety, (d) for the advancement of political parties or election campaigns, (e) for anything malicious, fraudulent, harassing or threatening, or (f) for any covert, misleading or unfair communications, including, without limitation, any advertisements or social media campaigns that fail to identify the organization that controls or pays for the communication.

  7. What does Gloo do to maintain the privacy of personal information?

    We may handle sensitive information, including information on faith, religion, family, health, and finances. Gloo has taken measures to mitigate privacy risks with data security and data privacy protection mechanisms including the following:

    • We limit data access within our company to those individuals who have a need to access data.

    • We implement the measures described in our Security Statement.

    • We limit the personal information that we share, as described under this Section.

    • We restrict what our customers may do with  the Services and personal information, as set forth in our terms of service, Privacy Statement, and acceptable use policy (see our answers to Questions 3 and 6).

We do not disclose this data in identifiable form with others, except at the request or direction of the individual, such as when individuals ask us to connect them with churches or other organizations who can help them or in the limited circumstances described in our Privacy Statement (e.g., to service providers).

    • When a church or other organization engages us as a service provider, we process personal information the organization provides to us on the organization’s behalf, such as to create surveys and social media outreach campaigns for those organizations at the explicit instruction of the organization.

    • We also license personal information from data providers. We use this data to provide insights and related Services to our customers. Gloo does not seek to receive names and contact information of data subjects provided by data providers. However, if a data provider were to include names or contact information, we remove this identifying information. In any event, we do not share such information in identifiable form with customers or other organizations.

  4. What information does Gloo receive from and about Gloo Customers?

    We receive information from data partners about our customers, including contact information about individuals who work for those organizations (e.g., pastors). We use this information for market research, product development, and marketing in accordance with applicable laws as further described in our Privacy Statement.

  5. Is Gloo a data broker?

    No. Gloo does not “sell” a consumer’s personal information to third parties as defined by applicable law and/or engage in activities that meet the definition of “data” broker. 

  6. How does Gloo safeguard Gloo Services?

    As set out  in our Services Acceptable Use Policy, we contractually prohibit recipients of our Services from using our Services (a) for any illegal purposes, (b) to promote hate speech or incite violence, (c) to create a risk to a person’s health or safety, (d) for the advancement of political parties or election campaigns, (e) for anything malicious, fraudulent, harassing or threatening, or (f) for any covert, misleading or unfair communications, including, without limitation, any advertisements or social media campaigns that fail to identify the organization that controls or pays for the communication.

  7. What does Gloo do to maintain the privacy of personal information?

    We may handle sensitive information, including information on faith, religion, family, health, and finances. Gloo has taken measures to mitigate privacy risks with data security and data privacy protection mechanisms including the following:

    • We limit data access within our company to those individuals who have a need to access data.

    • We implement the measures described in our Security Statement.

    • We limit the personal information that we share, as described under this Section.

    • We restrict what our customers may do with  the Services and personal information, as set forth in our terms of service, Privacy Statement, and acceptable use policy (see our answers to Questions 3 and 6).
